Seven whole hours without a connection to the outside world; shock horror. You'd think that people would be better able to deal with a University network service suspension by doing something worthwhile outside on a lovely day like today - the reality is twisted bodies writhing in the throes of cold turkey. Well, almost. I sent a couple of emails out this morning, but understand that they'll be stuck in funny places until the backlog clears by the mid-evening. This is where people see the time stamp and wonder why I'm "Good morning" them at five in the afternoon. Admittedly, I've done weirder in my life.

Interesting experience today. I wonder if the network being down had anything to do with it? Oh well, c'est la vie. All fixed now it seems.

But as the book wrote: 'Curioser and curioser,' she said.

So clearing your cache did work, then? Actually, my domain is hosted well outside of Cambridge and would not have been affected by any downtime of the city-wide data network; that you experienced what you did, and for a relatively protracted period, is unusual. Did you learn anything of the goings on in the world?

Not really, though the gladiator pictured on the front page was rather attractive. But then I've always had a thing for muscular, sweaty men in burnished armour. But then again, doesn't everyone?

It's allegedly sunny in London though. Hurrah for Londoners! However, I suspect that London 'sunny' and Malaysia 'sunny' vary greatly in definition.

I'm still very curious as to why what happened happened though. Any theories?

Well, for most of the year since April, sunny has meant no rain, excessive heat, and general parching of the countryside. An exceptional year indeed. As for this instance; sunny in the morning, freezing cold, cloudy by lunch, freezing cold, raining by tea, windy and cold, dry and clear skied by dinner, also dark, and freezing cold.

Theories? Perhaps we became newsworthy?! Otherwise, it can only be gremlins; I hear them scratching beneath the floorboards.

Gremlins taste like chicken.
