fresh blood

I've finally prostituted myself to science in a bid to make some money; things are becoming increasingly strained financially, and since students in my position are forbidden from working whilst at the University, they invariably end up doing all sorts of things to make up the shortfalls.

This is the first time that I've done something more than teach, and I've certainly given it my all. Only two more days of this in the week ahead; it's an interesting study to be a part of, but in some small way, it makes me feel sad that I'm having to do this just to feed and house myself for a few more weeks. I guess that I should be grateful that I don't have more serious things to worry about, but a little security would really feel good right now.

Paypal donation on your site? Sign up for Google Adwords? Every little bit helps. (and God knows the linkbots think your site is popular enough to spam)

Ewwww. Are you gonna have, like, weird growths all over you, rapid weight gain, skin discoloration, and secret estrogen supplements? I'm scared.

[Zack] No, he's going to develop super powers and become a fugitive pursued by shady government agencies.

[Alastair] Not quite the first time, surely? In any case, don't let them hurt you.

Oh well, it's been up there a day now, someone has to ask.

What part of the anatomy is it and who is it? There are wrinkles in that picture and you are far too young to have those.

That's neat, how do you do that?

The favicon thing I mean.

Eeeewww!!

Alistair, what are you doing?!

[ks] Do I strike you as the type to ask people to donate money through my site just to keep me alive? ;) You know I'd wither and die before I even considered it... hmm, by which time I'd be unable to consider it in any case. And no, nothing commercial either.

[mezack] You mean besides what I already have? Nah, not likely.

[matt] The brainscan was for a friend's research; that they happened to pay a little was beside the point, and I'd likely have done it as a favour and for the novelty of it. They have hurt me; today was agonising as they had to cannulate bruised tissue, but I didn't say anything... it's all just nerve endings and mentality.

[Sherry] Alas, no funding, and no parental support; I know it's the pits, but will you still do ice cream with me? Thornton's close up shop at the end of the month :(

[Gary] It's the inside of my left elbow, turned inwards, hence the odd shape. The wrinkles are just the plastic of the tape holding in the cannula bunching up as I bent the arm to photograph it.

The favicon thing:

It's fairly simple, but when people who don't have favicons leave comments, you get a load of rubbish at the bottom of the comments window (scroll down and see...).

[Ryan] Just surviving, my friend. I'm not squeamish, so it doesn't really bother me, but with both of my arms looking like they do, I make a good junkie impersonator.

You should be able to hide that rubbish at the bottom by using a display : none; style for the <pre> tag.

Bringing out the silly suggestions: catering service? Cook to feed your starving fellow students (the ones that can afford it).

Or dare I say it? Ah well: Sugar daddy wanted sign? ;)

Please don't kill me. *duck*

It closes?!!??!!! SHRIEK.

At first I missed the word science. Then I re read it. I am much more calm now.
